Sarah Elliott's new zine What's Up with Food? poses the question through meats, fish, fruits, vegetables and GMOs too. It is hard to imagine that the beef in a quarter-pounder from McDonald's takes 11,000 liters (about 2750 gallons) of water to produce, but it's as true as it is sobering.
